Online and hands-on training

MiS-Life Leuven organises training courses in laparoscopy and hysteroscopy. Each programme has a strong hands-on focus, giving participants the opportunity to work with the latest instruments and practise minimally invasive surgical techniques.

Practical training sessions are combined with expert-led lectures and, depending on the course, live surgery demonstrations.

Hysteroscopy

Hands-on training in four hysteroscopic surgical techniques on realistic animal models developed by MiS-Life Leuven.

The remarkable progression of hysteroscopic techniques and instruments has inspired the experts of MiS-Life to design an intensive course with major attention to the hands-on training.

The limited number of two participants per training station and the established experience of the programme coordinators guarantee the most efficient learning effect. Special attention is given to new technologies and their application spectrum.

  • DAY 1: Diagnostic hysteroscopy and GESEA HYSTT exercises

  • DAY 2: Mechanical operative, bipolar needle hysteroscopy

  • DAY 3: Bipolar resectoscopy and mechanical tissue removal hysteroscopy (shaver)

This course aims to achieve the following objectives:

  • Perform an office/outpatient diagnostic-operative hysteroscopy

  • Become familiar with new indications for different techniques of operative hysteroscopy (bipolar, mechanical tissue removal system hysteroscopy)

  • Participants should be able to start with major uterine surgery

The course is aimed at all gynaecologists with a special interest in hysteroscopy, however experience of more than 50 diagnostic and 20 operative procedures is required.
